Disneyland has gained even more popularity since its newest addition, Star Wars, made a home for itself in the park.
Whether you are seasoned Disneyland visitors or first timers, it is important to understand the organisation that is involved in planning a trip to this enchanted place.
From booking to packing, to preparation, we’ve got you covered with top tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip to Disneyland Paris.
When it comes to booking accommodation, if you’re looking to travel on a budget, you will find Disney hotels to be pricey. There are some non-Disney hotels situated near the parks.
However, when in Paris… if you have time, take advantage of being in a wonderful city and set aside a day or two to explore it.
As Disneyland is further out from the city, choose to stay near the city centre and enjoy the best of both worlds.
With excellent train links to the parks, you can enjoy the beauty of Paris and still make memories at Disneyland.
When travelling with kids, it is advisable to find accommodation that offers plenty of space and is family friendly. Fraser Suites Le Claridge is located on the beautiful Champs-Elysées close by to attractions and transport links. Trains are frequent, run all day and take approximately 40 minutes.
What makes this hotel ideal for families is their spacious serviced apartments which offer space and the luxury of enjoying hotel amenities while also feeling as though you are in a home away from home.
If you have trouble finding availability at this hotel, they also have another property, Fraser Suites La Defense which is equally as good.
Once you have arrived and are settled into your accommodation, it’s time to start prepping for the parks. Taking all the right measures, from tickets to snacks will ensure a hassle-free visit to Disneyland paris.
When it comes to buying tickets, you need to make sure you are buying the correct ones for the amount of time you are staying to make sure you’re getting the most for your money.
Firstly, decide how many days you wish to spend at the parks. You can purchase tickets for up to five days and any tickets over two days automatically allow entry into both parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park).
Buy your tickets in advance! This means less waiting time at the gates on arrival which means more time for fun! To purchase Disneyland Paris tickets, click here.
When packing for the day ahead, it is important that you pack wisely by bringing all the essentials but remember you will be carrying them around all day, so you don’t want anything too heavy (unless you have a pram, in that case load it up). If you need a pram, bring your own with you if possible as renting one through the park can be costly. Also, be sure to bring a padlock or bike chain for when your pram is unattended to ensure it is secure.
Pack snacks! Snacks are essential. Food inside the park is pricey and the kids will get peckish at all different times of the day. If you wish to cut your budget even more, prepare a picnic for lunch and even an early dinner.
Bring water bottles with you to avoid having to buy drinks every time a family member gets thirsty. There are water fountains throughout the parks where you can refill your bottles.
Pack a portable phone charger! You don’t want to miss out on capturing all the special moments, so make sure you bring a portable charger and this way you can take photos and videos until your heart is content and your storage is full.
Bring raincoats or ponchos. If the weather makes a turn for the worst during your visit and you’re standing in a queue, you might not be able to find cover at that very moment.
If you are sticking to a tight budget, buy your Disney gear ahead of time as the shops inside the parks can be expensive. Stock up on mickey ears, wands, princess dresses you name it beforehand and surprise the kids once you’re in the park.
Plan ahead! This is a biggie. Download the Parc de Disneyland® app. This incredible technological tool is there to help you check wait times, use as admission into the park, check FASTPASS return times, make dinner reservations, check ride photos, order food ahead of time, locate characters, use as a GPS and more! This app will become your best friend!
Plan ahead as much as you can. Decide where you want to start in the park and what main attractions you don’t want to miss. Try to plan around these main attractions by checking wait times to ensure you are seeing as much as you can in the time that you have. Character meals book up quickly so make sure you do this in advance if it’s on your wish list.
Once inside the park, pick up FASTPASSES to cut your queue waiting time! FASTPASS machines are located at ride entrances and display a return time. If the return time fits into your schedule, insert your ticket into the machine and you have secured a spot in the FASTPASS queue. It’s simple!
If you are visiting with a baby, make sure you request a baby switch card (this can be obtained at the front gate). The card means parents can wait in the child swap area while the other parent goes on the ride. Once the ride is finished, the other parent can have a go, without having to queue.
Try to arrive at shows and parades at least 15 minutes ahead of time if you want a good view. This is a great opportunity for some downtime to enjoy a snack or a spot of lunch and it keeps the kids entertained while you wait.
The list of tips and tricks for visiting Disneyland Paris is endless. However, these are top advices that can make your trip that much easier. Whether you are a regular or a newbie to the wonderful world of Disney, the key is to stay organised and be prepared.
